Wichita Government Solutions Awarded Radon Mitigation Equipment Installation Contract by Bureau of Indian Education
Midwest City, OK— June 9, 2025 — Wichita Government Solutions, LLC (WGS), an 8(a) certified Indian Small Business Economic Enterprise (ISBEE) owned by the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes and part of the Quivera Enterprises family of companies, has been awarded a contract by the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) to install radon mitigation systems at the Taos Day School in northern New Mexico. This important project addresses elevated radon levels identified by WGS during a prior assessment of the multiple school buildings. This Project aims to enhance the long-term health and safety of the school’s students and staff by reducing the measured elevated indoor air radon concentrations to acceptable concentrations.
Located approximately 70 miles northeast of Santa Fe, Taos Day School serves K-8 students. The school campus includes historic and modern structures, some dating back to the late 1800’s. WGS will install active soil depressurization systems within select school buildings, adhering to AARST, BIA, EPA and industry standards. The project supports BIE’s broader commitment to providing safe, culturally-grounded learning environments for Native youth.
“We are honored to continue our partnership with the Bureau of Indian Education and support its mission to ensure safe, healthy learning environments for Native students,” said Rachel Crawford, CEO Quivera Enterprises. “Through this project, we’re not only addressing environmental health concerns but also reinforcing our shared commitment to the well-being and future of Indigenous youth.”
